 Opinions and other informations:

Kotebel was created in 1998, as a personal project. Carlos Plaza, who's the author of all the titles, worked exclusively within the classical music field since 1989 until then. Kotebel came as a consecuence of the need to explore new languages, without having to abandon some elements which are not well regarded in classical contemporary music: use of tonality, development of melodic ideas constructed with consontant cells, subordination of form to inspiration, etc.

The personal project counted on the support excellent musicians from the beginning. In 2004 Kotebel was invited to the BajaProg Festival. Then Carlos Plaza reunited a group of musicians for that event that eventually became a stable band and the band Kotebel was born as a 7 members outfit until 2008, when singer Carolina Prieto and flute player Omar Acosta left the band, that remained as an instrumental 5-pieces project.
