A post-workshop website

On 22 September 2001, the workshop Teaching Machine Translation, organized by Derek R. Lewis (University of Exeter) and Mikel L. Forcada (Universitat d'Alacant) took place as part of the VIII Machine Translation Summit in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, Spain.

At the workshop, in addition to the presentation of papers, a round table took place in which instructors exchanged experiences and information about the tools and techniques they use in the classroom or in the laboratory.

Objective

This site collects the papers presented at the workshop, and will try to collect as many resources about teaching MT as possible, to serve the MT teaching community. If you have an online resource that you believe to be useful for MT instructors, you are welcome to contribute it and we will link it or provide it here.

A new workshop is coming up!

The European Association for Machine Translation, in collaboration with the Natural Language Translation Specialist Group of the British Computer Society, organizes the 6th EAMT Workshop on Teaching Machine Translation, which will be held in November 2002 at the Centre for Computational Linguistics, UMIST (Manchester).
