• Para desbloquear la situación creada por la negativa de un departamento de la Escuela Politécnica a trasladarse al lugar en el nuevo edificio que la UA le había asignado, el DLSI ha accedido a trasladarse al edificio nuevo siempre y cuando se equipe adecuadamente las instalaciones. El traslado se realizará en cuanto se hayan ejecutado las obras previstas para adecuar las cabeceras de los edificios a su uso como despachos y laboratorios.
• El departamento se ha opuesto a la modificación del modelo de plantilla que aumenta el tamaño de los grupos de prácticas cuando los alumnos proceden de titulaciones no informáticas, lo que impide la docencia en los laboratorios. Paradójicamente, otros alumnos como los de informática, tendrán mejores clases que los de las titulaciones específicas.
• El departamento ha promovido la adquisición de las revistas Computer Music Journal y Information Retrieval.
