Global objectives of the PhD programme

The main objective of this PhD programme is to train doctoral students in the research areas in which the lecturers of the Departarment of Software and Computing Systems are working.

The experience gained by our researchers in the different research areas guarantees a high quality, up-to-date training and ensures the teaching of only the latest techniques in each area.

The global objectives of our PhD programme are:

• To know the state of the art in each subject:
  • Solved problems and techniques used.
  • Unsolved problems.
  • Research lines currently open.
• To know why it is necessary to work in these areas:
  • Expectations of the scientific community.
  • Expectations of the companies and society.
• To study techniques that improve existing ones.
• To implement some of these techniques in the labs.
• To try to find new solutions to some of the unsolved problems.
• To evaluate new proposals made by the students.
• To study how the new proposals of each student can be extended into a PhD thesis.
